Camp Greenwood started its summer camp program in the early 1950’s. The camp is located just outside of Greenville, Michigan on 240 acres, with frontage on 4 different lakes. Our summer counseling staff is made up of young adults (over 18) who have gone through a process that includes applications, interviews, reference checks, and a 10 day staff training. We are licensed by the State of Michigan, accredited by the American Camping Association, and affiliated with the Presbyterian Camp and Conference Center Associates. Our summer staff also includes a trained waterfront director, a program director, a food service director, a health director (on site, with a physician on call), and contracted staff for special activities.
All of our facilities have been constructed or renovated in the past 15 years. Campers stay in modern cabins with bunk beds, electricity, and indoor plumbing (bathroom and showers in each cabin). Each cabin has at least one counselor with them at all times. We provide three balanced meals a day and a snack in the evening. The food even tastes good!
Although campers do not have access to a phone, we encourage you to write or e-mail your campers during their stay. We do accept one-way e-mail that is distributed daily, and even post pictures on the web for you to look at during their time here. Campers do have FOB (feet on bunk) after lunch, so be sure to send some paper and envelopes so they can write back to you.
